Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Craig was the first of his immediate family to attend and graduate high school and University. He received a bursary to attend College out of high school, but decided the field chosen in College was not for him, instead, he attended University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree, then years later, he obtained certificates & certifications in, Human Resources, Managing Conflict, Event Planning, Leadership, Diversity and Inclusion, Project Management, and prior to Covid-19 he was attending Université Sainte-Anne to brush up on his conversational French.
In 2004, he adopted a five-year-old boy by himself and became a parent for the first time. Though it was difficult raising a child on his own, he and the child made a family for themselves and fought through whatever was to come. In 2018 the young man graduated from high school.
In Craig's professional career, he has been employed with an HR firm, NS's regulatory body of Pharmacy, Saint Mary's University, he operated and owned a very successful event planning organization, and planned over 300 weddings and social events. After the sale of his business, he went to work with Dalhousie University, and now he works with the Government.
This past October, Craig ran in the Municipal Election for District 7 Councillor in Halifax Downtown South. Though he did not win, he did not lose.
