Craig Roy | A Personal Journey

A Personal Journey

I grew up in rural Nova Scotia. I was the first in my immediate
family to graduate from high school and pursue higher education. That experience shaped my persistence, work ethic, and
determination to keep moving forward.

My career began in human capital management, followed by roles in professional regulation and higher education. I later became a small business owner before moving into project management, government, and healthcare operations. Each environment taught me something different about how organizations work, how people contribute to them, and how change affects both.

My experience has taken me from supporting human capital
professionals at a career transition organization, to managing
registration operations for a pharmacy regulatory body, to
coordinating an Executive MBA program. I later built and operated my own businesses before returning to organizational and project leadership through government and healthcare.

Those experiences gave me a broad perspective. I learned to look beyond the immediate task and understand how people,
processes, resources, systems, and organizational priorities connect.

That perspective continues to shape my work today. Whether
supporting healthcare operations, leading organizational change, redesigning services, coordinating complex projects, or working with cross-functional teams, I focus on understanding the larger picture and turning complex challenges into practical solutions.

I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Operations Management and a minor in Marketing. I have
continued to develop my capabilities through professional
development in Human Resources, Change Management, Project Management, Lean Six Sigma, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Quality Improvement, and related areas.

Every stage of my career has added another perspective. Together, those experiences have shaped how I lead, solve problems, support people, and approach change.
